What a great day we had on Peterborough’s two-coach day of dance tour, accompanied by Crosskey Clog, Northampton Morris Men, Jockey Men’s Morris, Devil’s Dyke Morris Men, The King’s Morris, Leicester Morris Men and Cambridge Morris Men.
We started the day dancing in Peterborough’s Cathedral Square before the sides were divided between two different coach tours. Our tour started with the beautiful, charming village of Ashton to dance outside the Chequered Skipper; a picturesque thatched country pub which was previously the home of the world conker championships. Our younger members were kept amused by collecting conkers from the beer garden!

We then had a delicious lunch and a couple of dances at the Montagu Arms in Barnwell before joining up with the other tour at the Nene Valley Brewery. It was very enjoyable sampling the beers and performing massed dances with the other morris sides.
Everyone then travelled back to Cathedral Square in Peterborough for a little bit more dancing and tea and cakes in the church.
A glorious dance spectacle to start the celebrations for Peterborough Morris’s 40th Anniversary . We were honoured to take part!
