Well what can I say about Towersey Festival other than WOW…!? We were absolutely honoured and really excited to be asked to perform at this festival. Towersey is one the most prestigious folk festivals in country!
We had such an amazing weekend, saw some awesome acts and met lots of other lovely Morris dancers. Over the weekend we performed twice in the Market Square which is a covered, spotlit(!) dance stage, and we also held a border Morris workshop on the Sunday morning to teach the dance September the 4th.
We had a fabulous turnout to our workshop early on the Sunday morning – we couldn’t fit anybody else on the dance floor! Well done to everyone who came along.
We really hope to come back another year. We love, love, love Towersey Festival and next year it’s being moved to the beautiful setting of Claydon Estate in Buckinghamshire to allow for expansion and a new programme of outdoor and wellness activities…so it’ll be closer to us! I’m sure a lot of us will be visiting again even if we aren’t performing with Sutton Masque.
